Time Flies!

Just a quick update on all that is going on this month.
 Kylee

Ky got her 1st phase of braces on in July, a week after she had gotten them on you could see the difference in her front teeth. They were straight and the cross bite was gone! She just went in and had them adjusted and her orthodontist wanted to close the gap, so she said ok. They put a spring on each side of the wire that  will pull her gap closed, after 1 1/2 weeks the gap is almost completely gone.

Kylee started 3rd grade this year! She got another young teacher, we weren't sure we were very happy about that, given we weren't really happy with last years teacher. We went in for her "back to school" night on August 10th and met Mrs. Clements! She is absolutely adorable. She just got married in June and lives in Cedar City, so commutes back and forth. After talking with her, Casey and I both felt really comfortable with her. Ky seems to really like her too. Well, after a week of school, we got a call from her Friday night. At first I was like "great, I wonder what she did!", but it was just a call to let us know that she thinks Ky is a great kid, very smart, and very helpful. Which we already knew, but as a parent you can never hear it enough, especially from teachers!

Ky is also starting soccer this year, her first game is September 11th. She is very excited, it is a city league, but they made the teams based on school boundaries, so she will be playing with girls that she knows. This is her first time and she is nervous, but we told her that if she didn't like it she only had to play this year and we wouldn't make her do it again. She is really into Softball and can't wait for that season to start, which won't be until next spring. She's talked about basketball also, but much to my disappointment, there has been no mention of volleyball.....yet anyways :-)

Brayden

This has been a Great month for Brayden. Towards the end of July he started walking and now he barely crawls at all! He has taken some nasty spills and has got the bruises to show for them, had a black eye from where he got to going to fast and couldn't catch himself and smacked his face on the floor. Then the incident where he fell down the stairs! I about had a heart attack! We were playing in his room (which is right at the top of the stairs) and he went out the door and before I could catch up with him, he was at the first step, he cleared that one ok, but rolled down the next 2. I hit an Octave I didn't even realize was possible as I screamed
for Casey. Luckily Casey was just around the corner from the stairs and was able to catch him before he hit the hard wood floors! Brayden's dr told me that "it's just par for the course" with him learning how to walk.We bought him a pair of shoes and just like to sit and laugh at watching him try to walk with them on. It's so funny! It's like he's doing "high knees".

He now has 6 teeth (4 on top, 2 on bottom) with two more bottom teeth cutting through. We can actually see the tips, so hope they cut fast for him.

He says "momma" and "daddy", if you has him what a cat says or if he see's a cat he says "mow, mow". I taught him how a dog pants, so if you ask him what a dog says he now sticks his tongue out and pants. Of course Casey and I hear "words" all the time, even if he's not meaning to say them!

I can't believe he is turning 1 on Saturday (8/28)!!! The time just flew by, I miss how little he used to be, but at the same time, I am loving this little ball of personality. And boy does he have one, he is such a character! I can't wait to see how it develops as he gets older, I see him being the kid that tries to make everyone laugh all the time.

Casey

Casey just finished another class for school and will start his next one tomorrow. Each class lasts 5 weeks, I will be glad for him, when all this is done.

He is working like crazy to make sure we stay afloat. I am so proud and lucky to have him as my husband!

Me

Well I am still unemployed, not for lack of trying though! I was putting in 4 to 5 applications a week at one point, but the job market down here sucks. I actually got an email from one company saying that they had gone through 143 applications! I mean seriously! So I just keep trudging along!

My back is starting to feel better, it's not healed but at least I can walk with out leaning to my right so much. It only hurts if I've sat to long or when I'm laying in bed. Can't seem to find the "comfy" spot when I'm laying down.

Other than all of that, life is life, and we are dealing with things one step at a time.
